Dr. Jackie Amis brings over a decade of specialized gynecologic expertise to Transformation Pelvic Surgery and Medicine. Originally from the United States, she has dedicated her career to advancing women’s health care through innovative surgical techniques and compassionate patient care.

Dr. Amis initially developed a special interest in minimally invasive gynecology, earning multiple awards in minimally invasive surgery and robotics. Her commitment to advancing surgical techniques led her to become proficient in cutting-edge procedures, including bringing vNOTES (vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery) to her previous institution – a revolutionary approach that provides scarless surgery and significantly improved recovery times.

Journey to New Zealand
Dr. Amis’s path brought her to New Zealand and Taranaki Base Hospital in 2023, where she serves as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Recognizing the need for expanded specialized services in the Taranaki region, she established Transformation Pelvic Surgery and Medicine in 2024.
Personal Life
Dr. Amis lives in New Plymouth with her husband and their two sons. When not practicing medicine, she enjoys an active lifestyle that includes beach activities, training in jiu jitsu, and exploring New Zealand’s natural beauty with her family. This balance of professional dedication and personal fulfillment reflects her holistic approach to life and medicine.
